Caroline Huff earned a B.F.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Masters degree from American University and was a recipient of a Virginia Museum Fellowship.  With more than 40 solo shows to her credit, her work has appeared in galleries in New York City, Beverly Hills, Richmond, Va., Palm Beach, Scottsdale, Santa Fe, Houston, Washington D.C.,  Baltimore and in Rehoboth Beach where she has lived since 2014.

   She taught drawing at American University, and, for many years taught painting and art history at Prince George’s Community College, Md. where she also served as chairperson of the art department.  Museums in which her work has been shown include the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Washington County Museum of Fine Art, the Smithsonian and the Virginia Museum.

   "I enjoy painting moments in the changing light of timeless settings — old boats at rest on the Chesapeake Bay, the sunny beach of a Greek island, gondolas bobbing  in the shimmering reflections of Venice or Paris in the rain.  I often also paint figures captured at a moment of aloneness in quiet contemplation.
   Light is the common denominator in my work.  It is the stimulus for color, provides the structure for design, creates shapes, defines images and establishes mood."
